'Extraordinary' star who Pep Guardiola loves could now be Liverpool-bound after David Ornstein news
Richard Hughes and Arne Slot completely changed Liverpool's first-team squad in the summer transfer window.
The Anfield outfit spent over £400 million on new players with many thinking that they'd be close to unstoppable.
Players such as Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz were brought in and, with the form that Mohamed Salah put on show last term, it felt like the Reds may have created the best attack in the world.
However, things haven't quite panned out like that and now, Liverpool find themselves eighth in the Premier League.
Granted, this isn't all down to their attack but the fact that they seem to be moving closer to adding yet another winger to their first-team squad shows that more moves are in the works.
Ghana manager says Antoine Semenyo is now ready to take the next step in his career
Antoine Semenyo has been one of the most in-form attackers in the Premier League this season.
He has a ÂŁ65 million release clause in his current contract with clubs such as Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester United all fighting for his transfer.
Although Liverpool already have an abundance of attackers at their disposal, it's hard to hide from the fact that Semenyo's arrival would benefit the Reds massively, especially when his versatility is taken into consideration.
The fact that he won't be travelling to AFCON is also a massive bonus and would likely be one of the main reasons Liverpool would try and sign him in the January transfer window.
Rumours have been circling about his future for a while with Ghana's head coach Otto Addo has now admitting that the Ghanaian is ready for the next step.
"He has done very well at Bournemouth, but with all the respect for Bournemouth and what they’re doing, surely it is natural for him to take the next step," he said in quotes relayed by David Ornstein.
"Whether its in the winter or summer, it is a difference question but it won’t make a difference for us. I’m looking forward to him showing more of what he can to the world."
Liverpool must throw everything at signing Antoine Semenyo in the future
The fact that Pep Guardiola has called Semenyo an "extraordinary player" proves how good the attacker really is.
He may not have had his big break with a team yet but the fact that he's already contributed to nine goals in the Premier League proves that he's ready to step things up.
At the moment Liverpool have Salah, Federico Chiesa, Cody Gakpo and Rio Ngumoha occupying the wings.
However, with the Egyptian King coming out and saying that the Reds' game against Brighton on 13 December could be his last for the club, a place within Slot's plans could be about to open up.
Indeed, Chiesa is likely to be the first in line but since the Dutchman doesn't seem to trust the Italian, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Liverpool make a move for Semenyo.
His versatility, coupled with his keen eye for goal and his blistering pace are all things that would help the Reds out massively, especially in their current run of form.
