One of Liverpool's former coaches has now agreed to join Arsenal.

Even though the Reds got the psychological advantage over the Gunners with the draw at the Emirates, Mikel Arteta's side are still very much sitting comfortably at the top of the Premier League table.

They have been the best team in the league so far this season. There's no doubting Arsenal's brilliance, which is why Liverpool were so satisfied to get a draw on Thursday night.

Whether the Gunners can now go on and win the league remains to be seen. Manchester City have brought in reinforcements in Antoine Semenyo and look set to explore more options in the January window.

The gap is not enormous for City to claw back. The advantage is in Arsenal's hands but there's still a lot of games left to play.

And while Man City are strengthening on the pitch, Arsenal are bringing in reinforcements off the pitch to give them an edge over their rivals.

According to The Times, Arsenal have agreed to bring in Thomas Gronnemark who is regarded as the world's leading throw-in coach.

This is interesting because for several years, Gronnemark was actually employed by Liverpool. He worked under Jurgen Klopp and helped the Reds to win both the Premier League and the Champions League title.

Gronnemark is know as an elite coach in his role and he perfected a technique that helped Liverpool become more effective in their throw-in tactics.

What makes this even more interesting is that back in December, Gronnemark seemed open to return to Anfield in an interview.

But it looks like Arsenal have won the race for his signature. He'll be giving advice to Arteta's squad and will look to help another team to a Premier League title.

Given how important set-pieces have been in the Premier League this season, Gronnemark could be a huge appointment for the Gunners.

In a league with such tight margins, he could become the key to helping Arsenal become the champions for the first time since 2004.

For Liverpool, it's a clear missed opportunity. Set-pieces and throw-ins have been a side of the game that they haven't really exploited under Arne Slot.

Now despite having the opportunity to appoint one of the best in the world in this expertise, it's their rivals who have brought in the former Reds coach.
