A dream manager could now replace Arne Slot.

Questions have to be asked about Liverpool's long-term future under Arne Slot.

While this is a transition season and transitions always require patience, Liverpool is a club that still has certain level of expectations. If performances, results, or the club's identity begins to drift in a worrying direction, the pressure for change becomes enormous.

Under Slot, all three have been a concern so far this season.

Slot seemingly arrived with a clear footballing philosophy built on control, structure, and positional discipline. He was supposed to be very similar to Jurgen Klopp.

However, we haven't seen any of that so far. Slot's football is not as entertaining nor as effective as Klopp's was. Over the course of the last few months Slot has looked increasingly out of depth, which is why it would not be a a surprise to see him move on in the summer.

Slot's only saving grace at the moment is that Liverpool don't want to make a managerial change mid-season and that no one they want is actually available.

On paper, one manager who isn't available at the moment but could be in the summer is Julian Nagelsmann and he would be a dream hire.

Nagelsmann comes with a high pedigree and a reputation as a bit of a wonderkid manager. He is also astutely suited to Liverpool's style of play.

His teams are intense, aggressive out of possession and structurally flexible in attack.

So far in his career, Nagelsmann has always showed a willingness to adapt formations. He has switched between back threes and back fours but all the while maintaining verticality and pressing triggers.

That tactical fluidity would suit a Liverpool squad built on athleticism and intelligent movement.

Another major strength of his is his development of young players. Liverpool’s recruitment model is dependent on bringing through emerging talent with high ceilings, and Nagelsmann has consistently improved young prospects, trusting them in high-pressure environments.

His ability to refine them and make them better players will appeal to Hughes and co. and is a massive improvement on what Slot has achieved in his own career so far.

So, on paper, Nagelsmann is a nice fit both tactically and also in how he works with his players.

Obviously, right now he's in charge of the German national team and he won't want to leave them ahead of the World Cup.

But what about when the World Cup concludes? Well according to Ben Jacobs, Nagelsmann wants a move to the Premier League this summer after the tournament.

“Julian Nagelsmann would be interested in a Premier League job, unlike some of the other names, Thomas Tuchel, Carlo Ancelotti. He [Nagelsmann] is expected to be available on the market," Jacobs told The United Stand.

Obviously, other big clubs will also want to recruit Nagelsmann but this now definitely opens the door to him joining Liverpool.

Based on Jacobs' words, Nagelsmann will be available and he is interested in a Premier League job.

If that's not music to Richard Hughes' ears, it would be disappointing. Nagelsmann is the dream candidate for Liverpool.
