Dream coach ready to cancel plans and ACCEPT Liverpool's offer

Liverpool's dream coach is now ready to accept an offer from the club to replace Arne Slot.

You never want to see a manager become a villain at his own club. However, the Dutchman is teetering in that direction in much the same way Brendan Rodgers did during his time at Liverpool.

Slot's bizarre comments in press conferences, his drab football that saw Anfield erupt in boos against Burnley are all signs of the club heading in one direction.

It now feels like a matter of when not if Slot will inevitably lose his job at the club.

Liverpool may be unbeaten in 12 games but the level of opponents faced and the amount of actual victories gained during that time point towards a very different picture.

The need for change is clearly. But the question remains, who?

That has become a little bit clearer. While the pressure was mounting on Slot as he lost nine in 12 games, there was no obvious answer for who could become his replacement.

But that has changed.

Xabi Alonso is now available and there is no question about it, he is simply the dream target for most Liverpool fans. Alonso has a special connection to the club. Many wanted him to replace Klopp in the first place.

Things may not have worked out for him at Real Madrid but that is not down to Alonso, it's also down to the players and the toxic nature of the Spanish club that prevented him from implementing his methods and playing style.

Even with that being said, if you look at the underlying numbers, Alonso's Real Madrid should have been on top of the La Liga table during his time at the club, so that would suggest an underperformance.

This is not the case with Liverpool. Slot's side are very much performing as expected and it doesn't look like there are many positives to take into consideration.

Slot doesn't seem to have a clear idea of how he wants to play. He doesn't seem to trust his youth players which is a key part of Liverpool's philosophy.

Alonso now being available just points towards one obvious direction. He is right there and according to a report in Marca he is waiting for the opportunity to manage the Reds.

The report claims that Alonso is planning to rest from now until the end of the season. However, one phone call from Liverpool could change that.

According to Marca, Alonso would be ready to accept an offer to join Liverpool if the opportunity became available to him. They also claim the Spaniard is destined to manager the Reds sooner or later.

Whether Richard Hughes would be willing to sanction such a move and sack Slot, remains to be seen.
