Only a few gets to experience that dream come to life, and even fewer people get to experience it for an entire career. For one rising academy prospect at Liverpool right now, that is the goal.

Far too often have Liverpool fans seen the club become not the end destination but a stepping stone for the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester City.

From Raheem Sterling to Trent Alexander-Arnold, we have experienced our fair share of disappointment in young players coming through the ranks and then moving onto something else when it became convenient for them.

So, when you hear a young player talk about wanting to be at Liverpool for a lifetime, you listen.

That player is Prince Kobe Cisse, a promising young centre-back emerging from the academy ranks, who previously played as a forward but is now leading the U18s at the heart of their defence.

He is the son of the club's former striker Djibril Cissé, who was a cult figure at the club. Prince Kobe is determined to carve out his own path at the club. While his father made his mark with extravagant hairstyles and sometimes outlandish statements, the younger Cisse is a lot more disciplined and calmer on the pitch, which makes him better suited to be a centre-back.

Those within the academy speak highly of his attitude. He is eager to learn, willing to work, and unafraid of the standards required to succeed at one of England’s biggest clubs. It is understood he has taken to transitioning into a centre-back really well. Academy coaches have been impressed with his attitude and some have even likened his positional shift to Trent Alexander-Arnold making the switch from right-wing and midfielder to right-back at a similar age.

Cisse currently has the third most successful defensive actions (12.77 per 90) among centre-backs in the U18 Premier League. He wins 67% of his defensive duels and 65% of his aerial duels.

The pathway from youth football to the first team is never guaranteed, but there is a chance for Cisse to make a mark for himself given Liverpool are short of centre-back depth and have ageing players who could be moving on within the next two years.

Cisse's goal is ultimately to break into the first-team, as he confirmed to Liverpool's official website. But what's even more exciting is that he sees the Reds as his final destination.

“Short term, I just hope to keep progressing, getting better, keep starting in the U18s and maybe play a couple of U21s games – who knows? Then long term, I obviously want to get in the first team. I want to play for Liverpool for the rest of my life really – that's what I want to do.”

It’s a huge declaration of loyalty in an era where such statements are scarce. Finally a young player seems to view Liverpool not as a stepping stone but as his home.

For now, the work has to continue. He still has a lot to learn and he's still raw as a centre-back. But he has the speed and the physical qualities combined with his technical ability on the ball to become the perfect modern day centre-back.

In a year or two, who knows, maybe he will follow in his father's footsteps. For now though, just remember the name.

He is Prince Kobe Cisse, who wants to play for Liverpool for a lifetime. If only a certain no.66 had that kind of attitude...
