Arne Slot left 'furious' after Ryan Gravenberch moment vs Man City
Liverpool were beaten 2-1 by Manchester City on Sunday.
The Premier League clash was held at Anfield with both teams putting on decent displays.
Manchester City were the ones who dominated the first half whereas the Anfield outfit were the ones on top throughout the second.
Dominik Szoboszlai's screamer was the moment that opened the scoring with his knuckleball free-kick flying straight into the corner of the goal.
And, even though the Reds scored the first, they weren't good enough to hold Pep Guardiola's men off.
The dying embers of the game were insanity, but, there was another moment in the clash that left Arne Slot somewhat bewildered.
Arne Slot couldn't understand why the pull on Ryan Gravenberch's arm wasn't a foul
The entire clash was an end-to-end affair.
As mentioned, the Cityzens were the ones who had the best chances of the game but that didn't stop Liverpool from breaking the deadlock.
Without Szoboszlai in the centre of the park, it was clear that Liverpool's midfield were struggling, however, with the number of injuries they've suffered, Slot was left with no other choice but to start him at right-back.
There were a couple of moments from Liverpool's midfield which stood out and, in one of their many counter attacks, there was a point when Ryan Gravenberch's arm was pulled which stopped the Dutchman from advancing the attack.
This caused plenty of frustration from Liverpool's bench with Sky Sports journalist Adam Bate sharing what he saw Slot do on the sidelines.
"Slot absolutely furious when it appears the referee is not going to give a foul on Gravenberch," he wrote.
"Feels more tense in this second half as there's a realisation that, far from the flurry of goals anticipated, one big moment might decide it."
Liverpool must get their act together before it's too late
Since Liverpool were beaten by Man City, it's clear that a lot more should be coming from the Reds' first-team squad.
There have been times this season when the Anfield outfit have been one of the Premier League's best but, if Sunday's game against City is anything to go by, it's clear that improvements still need to be made across the board.
Liverpool still have the Champions League and the FA Cup to fight for but, if their attack can't get into some decent form soon, it'd be surprising to see them finish in the top four.
Players such as Cody Gakpo really need to start pulling their weight otherwise things could go from bad to worse for the Anfield outfit in double-quick time.
Because, if we're being honest, Szoboszlai surely can't continue carrying Liverpool on his back for much longer, especially if he's going to be used as a right-back for the foreseeable future.
