All signs are pointing towards a Liverpool star leaving the club.

There are going to be wholesale changes at Anfield once again this summer. It just feels inevitable at this point.

So many players could be on the move. Mo Salah's future is up in the air. Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konate could leave on a free transfer when their contracts expire.

Richard Hughes is going to be doing more rebuilding for Liverpool. He needs to sign centre-backs, full-backs, midfielders and especially wingers with the ability to drive at their opponents in one vs one situations.

It's an intense and enormous undertaking from the club's sporting director. The moment he began last summer it was obvious the entire process was going to be very long and very difficult.

But what was perhaps not expected is the extent to which Liverpool have sacrificed their homegrown talent.

Last summer Tyler Morton, Jarell Quansah, Ben Doak and Caoimhin Kelleher were all sold on for profit.

It was an attempt to generate more funds for Liverpool but at the same time it has left the club's homegrown options very short, and Slot's own squad therefore very short of depth as well.

Now Hughes could be making further cuts in this department in the summer.

And that could see Curtis Jones moving on from Liverpool with all the signs pointing towards his departure being inevitable.

Already in January, there was a possibility of Jones joining Inter Milan. Anfield Watch understands the club has been in negotiations with him over a new contract for well over a year but there has so far been no compromise by either party.

In the summer, he will be entering the final year of his contract. Liverpool considered selling him in January when Inter came knocking but ultimately did not have the depth to be able to allow him to go mid-season.

Now in a new report from The Times about Ryan Gravenberch's new contract, Paul Joyce mentions Liverpool trying to extend Alexis Mac Allister's and Dominik Szoboszlai's deals.

There's even a mention of Liverpool being locked in negotiations with Ibrahima Konate.

But Jones does not get a single mention in the copy. That's a telling sign.

Right now, based on everything it feels like Liverpool seem open to letting him depart.

The fact that he has been exiled to the bench for most of the season, and especially since those swirling January rumours, pretty much points towards an inevitable outcome.

Every sign would suggest that Jones is guaranteed to leave Liverpool.

After all the service he has given to the club. After all the games and years he spent at Liverpool. Despite how impressive he was against Wolverhampton in the FA CUp, there is a strong chance he will be on the move.

If The Times' report is to be taken into considering, Liverpool don't seem that keen on extending his deal and they won't want him to leave on a free in 2027.

So the only solution is to sell him for a fee and let go of another homegrown player. Even worse, let go of the last standing scouser in the team.
