Adam Wharton gives MASSIVE indication he's about to join Liverpool
Adam Wharton may have his heart set on a move to Liverpool.
The England international is going to be the biggest hot property on the market in the upcoming windows. Wharton is a very rare profile in the modern game, and especially in English football.
He's not your typical midfielder. He's a midfielder who plays with a Mediterranean swagger. A player with the silk and flair of a player made in Spain or Brazil.
The type of player, you pay big money for. Because these type of players can control games and win games single-handedly. So much of the modern game is about control. About having the ball at your feet and being able to use the ball in a smart way.
Wharton is someone who consistently makes good decisions. He thrives at setting the tempo and breaking opposition lines for Crystal Palace.
Only 21-years-old, he's going to be a generational midfielder. And it seems like he could continue his career at Anfield.
Wharton is exactly the type of midfielder Liverpool need. With Trent Alexander-Arnold gone, there are few players in the Liverpool squad capable of taking on the risky passes that the Reds' former no.66 regularly made and pulled off.
At Palace, Wharton has shown he can do that, too. He isn't safe when it comes to possession. He takes big risks and as a result his pass completion is not the best, but his catalogue of important moments is ample.
Now naturally for a player of his talent, the world's biggest clubs will be lining up for him. Wharton is the kind of player who can change the trajectory of the team who he signs for.
Instantly, that team is going to be better and will have their midfield orchestrator for many, many years to come.
Liverpool might feel like they are about to become that club according to a recent report in what Wharton may have given a huge indication to the club that he wants to join the Reds.
According to Indy Kaila writing on X, Liverpool believe Wharton 'wants to join them.' The report also goes onto say that this will be done within the next two transfer windows.
So either in January or the summer, Liverpool have a firm belief that it is they who Wharton desires.
That is a mouthwatering prospect. What in this Liverpool team with the likes of Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai as well as Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike making runs in behind opposition defences, would be simply unstoppable.
Indy has been increasingly more reliable with his reporting. He was first to the Wirtz and Isak stories over the course of the summer.
So let's hope he got this one right, too.
