22.61 mph: Liverpool want to sign one of Europe's FASTEST stars

Liverpool are reportedly chasing one of the fastest players in Europe right now. And he keeps getting faster.

Liverpool have sorely lacked pace on their wing this season. Though, it's not strictly 'pace' that they're lacking - they don't have a forward capable of running at their defender repeatedly during a game.

Rio Ngumoha does like to do that, admittedly, but he's also completely raw and unproven at the elite level. He'll get there one day, he's just not who Liverpool should be relying on this season.

The decision not to replace Luis Diaz has come back to hurt the Reds. There can't really be any doubt about that anymore and a new winger simply must be on the transfer agenda.

It does sound like one is, too. And one of the fastest in Europe, no less.

Liverpool want Yan Diomande

The path is clearing for Liverpool to sign Yan Diomande. He's not only a Liverpool fan, publicly admitting as much recently, but Bayern Munich appear to feel they can't afford him.

And Diomande is exactly what Liverpool need. The winger is proving to be decisive for RB Leipzig since arriving in the summer and he boasts the raw tools to be one of the world's best.

The Ivorian hit a top-speed of 36.4km/h on Saturday as Leipzig beat Heidenheim 3-0. That is the second-fastest speed any Bundesliga player has reached this season.

St. Pauli’s Ricky-Jade Jones has the fastest which, strangely, was set the day before. That 36.46km/h run only narrowly beats out Diomande, too.

But this kind of speed is what Liverpool are lacking. They just don't have it up top and gaining it in Diomande would be a significant boost to their attack.

Fingers crossed they can make it happen.
