Liverpool are in position to sign the World Cup's two breakout stars. What a summer this could be.

Liverpool have some major work to get through this summer. We are technically in transfer season, too - but the World Cup does delay things somewhat.

The usual domino effect is on hold and that means teams aren't as willing to sell as they will be next month. There's a good reason for that, too, as the World Cup can change things.

Breakout stars are in high demand. Those players who light up the tournament and catch people off guard, becoming the shiniest jewels around.

Liverpool have their eyes on a couple of them already. In fact, we'd argue they're in the best position to sign them.

The most obvious is Yan Diomande. Liverpool have been linked or a long time now and Fabrizio Romano claims that they may have the best position to sign the Ivorian.

He told his YouTube channel that the Reds will offer more than Paris Saint-Germain in order to sign Diomande. It's one that makes sense, given the incredible wingers already at PSG.

Liverpool, on the other hand, need a successor for Mohamed Salah and there really aren't any better than Diomande. Few can offer the money and role that the Reds can.

And it's a similar situation with Ayyoub Bouaddi. The midfielder shone brightly for Morocco against Brazil, demonstrating unbelievable composure at just 18.

He's already one of the best-rated youngsters in world football but now it appears he's ready to play a key role already. We think Bouaddi would be an absolutely perfect signing for Liverpool and Romano has confirmed initial talks.

And again, despite interest from clubs like Arsenal, Liverpool boast a strong position to sign him. They don't have another starting defensive midfielder but desperately need one.

Bouaddi could conceivably slot right into the team and play regularly. Something that gives them a real advantage over rivals in this race.
