Richard Hughes told how much it would cost to sign Ibrahima Konate's replacement
Liverpool have a massive rebuild on their hands this summer.
The Anfield outfit fell way too far behind their title rivals over the last couple of months which resulted in them finishing in fifth place.
This lack of form has led to many players being linked with an Anfield switch, especially since stalwarts such as Andy Robertson and Mohamed Salah are both exiting.
Ibrahima Konate is another player who has chosen to leave Liverpool and, even though they may have Giovanni Leoni, Joe Gomez and Jeremy Jacquet to plug that gap, they still need another centre-back to ease the load on the youngsters.
Several players have already been mentioned but now, the Anfield outfit have been told exactly how much they'd need to spend to get the best option of the lot.
Liverpool must spend £60 million to sign Luka Vuskovic
Luka Vuskovic is a player that a lot of Liverpool fans won't have heard of.
The Croatian has spent the 2025-26 season on loan with Bundesliga outfit Hamburger SV and, even though he's only 19 years old, he's been in exceptional form.
The centre-back is six foot three inches tall and has played in 30 games across all competitions this season.
During that time, he's scored six goals and even assisted his teammates once.
He's not all that versatile which is a bit of a downside but, since so many other clubs from around the world want to sign him, it's not hard to understand why Liverpool also want to get in on the action with Ben Jacobs now revealing how much they'd need to spend to sign him.
"Spurs have rejected Brighton’s £30m bid for Luka Vuskovicm," he wrote via his personal X account.
"Spurs not inclined to sell and value Vuskovic at around £60m."
Luka Vuskovic would be an unreal coup for Liverpool
Much like Yan Diomande, Vuskovic would be a risky purchase for Liverpool.
The centre-back has just played his first full season in a top five league with his team being far from on of the best in the Bundesliga.
Of course, just the exposure to Germany's top flight would have done him wonders but, as Florian Wirtz has shown, the Premier League is on a different level altogether.
However, with the amount of potential that Vuskovic has, it's clear why Liverpool are one of the many teams interested in signing him this summer.
Brighton have had their first bid rejected but, if Spurs rate the Croatian at around £60 million, it's a deal that Liverpool should be all over.
They've proven that they don't mind spending a lot of money on youngsters with Milos Kerkez and Jacquet both prime examples of this.
Liverpool's team will undoubtedly look different by the start of the 2025-26 season but, if they have Vuskovic as part of their plans, they'll be in a much better place than they currently find themselves.
