Liverpool are reportedly monitoring one of the biggest talents in European football. What a signing this could be.

Liverpool have set about securing some of the best young talents in European football over recent years. Florian Wirtz is the headliner there, but the Reds also brought in Giovanni Leoni and Jeremy Jacquet.

Perhaps there's another one, too. Caught Offside claim Liverpool are monitoring Luka Vuskovic as they continue their centre-back hunt.

Ibrahima Konate's exit forces them to consider a new signing and there really aren't any better than Vuskovic right now. His sensational season with Hamburg has him as one of the very best talents across the top five European leagues.

It would be a sensational signing. Though, it's a difficult one. Vuskovia was only on loan with Hamburg last season - he's actually contracted to Tottenham Hotspur.

The thinking here is that Spurs might be open to selling Vuskovic as they attempt to rebuild for the short-term. It's unclear whether they can really afford to develop a teenage defender at a time when they've twice now neared relegation.

Liverpool will apparently monitor the situation and should Spurs decide they're open to selling, Vuskovic could well be fielding an offer from Anfield. We're certainly crossing our fingers.

Luka Vuskovic: Situation Summary

Hamburger SV Campaign and Stats

As of 9 June 2026, Luka Vušković has concluded a highly successful 2025/26 season on loan at Hamburger SV from his parent club, Tottenham Hotspur. The 19-year-old Croatian centre-back established himself as a dominant presence in the Bundesliga, making 28 league appearances and scoring six goals—the highest tally for any defender in the German top flight this season. His commanding defensive displays, which included a league-leading 69.1% challenge success rate, were instrumental for Hamburg throughout the campaign.

World Cup Call-Up

Following his breakout year in Germany, Vušković’s rapid development has been rewarded at the international level. He has been named in Croatia's 26-man provisional squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which begins on 11 June in the USA, Mexico, and Canada. Having made his senior international debut in June 2025, the teenager is now set to compete on the world stage, with Croatia drawn into Group L alongside England, Panama, and Ghana. His immediate future following the tournament will involve reporting to Tottenham Hotspur for pre-season training.
