Liverpool's Andy Robertson replacement is here and he's perfect

Andy Robertson is going to be exiting Anfield after a rather impressive stint.

Liverpool bought the Scotsman from the recently relegated Hull City with many people questioning why the Reds even bothered to spend £7 million on the left-back.

However, those who doubted the Reds' recruitment process couldn't have been more wrong as the left-back quickly became one of Jurgen Klopp's most important players.

His ability to move the ball from the defence to the attack was second to none and his dynamic partnership with Trent Alexander-Arnold was certainly a sight to behold.

But, now that Milos Kerkez has entered the frame, the 31-year-old's playing time has suffered which has forced him to explore pastures new.

This then means that Liverpool will need a new left-back to enter the fold and now, it seems like Arne Slot and Richard Hughes have have stumbled upon the perfect player.

Daniel Svensson is one of Liverpool's' top summer targets

Daniel Svensson is a 24-year-old left-back who currently plays for Borussia Dortmund.

The Sweden international has been one of Nico Kovac's most consistent players as he's already featured in 43 games this term.

During that time, he's scored four goals and got two assists which proves how solid he actually is.

And now, according to Fussballdaten, the Reds have put the on £39 million man on top of their shortlist.

"Liverpool FC have identified Svensson as one of their top targets to rejuvenate their defense and increase competition at left-back," the report reads.

"His physicality and pressing ability promise to be a perfect fit for the Reds' system."

Although Svensson probably isn't a player that most people will have heard of, it's hard to deny that he wouldn't be a perfect fit for Liverpool.

Even though Dortmund play with five defenders on the pitch, Svensson's main role within the team is to defend and get back.

There have been times when he's pushed forward but, since Liverpool will need a left-back who can defend, it's good that Svensson has often been told to track back.

His experience in a five at the back formation could also be invaluable as, with Giovanni Leoni and Jeremy Jacquet entering Slot's plans next term, fans may start to see three centre-backs starting more often.

The fact that it would only cost around £39 million to prise him away is also a major selling point as it means that plenty of money would be left spare to improve the rest of the squad.

There's no knowing what the future has in store for Liverpool and the rest of their first-team squad but, if Svensson is brought in, they'll be much better off than they were this term, especially if Kerkez fails to meet expectations again.
