Four players set to leave after talks held

Liverpool’s squad remains in a state of flux just a few weeks out from the beginning of the 2026/27 Premier League season.

Sporting director Richard Hughes and head coach Andoni Iraola still have a lot of sorting out to do before the window closes on September 1.

Incomings need to be wrapped up at right wing - where Bradley Barcola is the primary target. And the 2024/25 Premier League champions could also do with a new option at right-back and centre–back where injuries are beginning to take hold.

Liverpool need to send players out on loan

In and among the potential inbound deals the futures of some current Liverpool players need to be sorted out.

The Merseysiders could end up selling Curtis Jones to Inter Milan this summer while there are doubts over the continuity of Federico Chiesa, Stefan Bajcetic and Harvey Elliott to name just a few.

Reds fielding enquiries for four fringe talents

Also in the spotlight are several fringe and youth players who will end up leaving on loan for the season.

The Daily Mail is claiming that FOUR members of the first-team squad who are currently in the USA on the preseason tour have been the subject of enquiries in recent days.

“Liverpool have received enquiries for some of their fringe players who have impressed on tour in USA with Luke Chambers, Lewis Koumas, Calum Scanlon and Ifeanyi Ndukwe all attracting interest,” the report reads.

Chambers, Koumas, Scanlon and Ndukwe set to leave

Chambers, 22, impressed on loan during the second half of last season at Charlton and filled in as a left-sided centre-back for Iraola against Wrexham earlier this week.

Koumas meanwhile has taken his chance very well on tour - scoring against Sunderland and featuring once again as a starter against Wrexham.

Last season the Welshman earned Premier League promotion with Hull City but looks ready for top-flight football this time around.

Scanlon is perhaps a surprise inclusion in the preseason touring party and has played in the first two games of the tour.

Last season the left-back was at Cardiff City on loan and has played further forward under Iraola during these initial matches under the Spaniard’s command.

Ndukwe had been initially earmarked for a first-team berth following his signing for £2.5m from Austria Vienna. But Liverpool cannot use him for the season upcoming owing to work permit issues - meaning he needs to go on loan elsewhere.
