Liverpool must make move for 'unbelievable' star after Fabrizio Romano update
Liverpool still have a couple of positions within their first-team squad that could do with upgrading.
They may have spent an extortionate amount of money in the summer, but, that doesn't mean that extra additions can't be made.
Liverpool had a lot to fight for this season, especially since they were defending the Premier League title.
And, while they may still be in contention for the Champions League and the FA Cup, their hopes of retaining England's top flight seem to be in tatters.
Now that the winter transfer is over with, it feels highly likely that Richard Hughes and Arne Slot have already started planning their moves for the summer.
Many players have already been linked with an Anfield switch, but, after the latest news from Fabrizio Romano, the Reds may end up being forced into making a move for one of their rumoured targets.
Liverpool must put in an offer for Yan Diomande after what Kenan Yildiz has done
Kenan Yildiz and Yan Diomande are two of the most sought-after attackers in football.
The duo are both very versatile with each of them taking their leagues by storm this term.
Due to their impressive form, Liverpool have been linked with the transfer of both players following the struggles of Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah this term.
And, while most fans may have wanted Yildiz to be the one welcomed through the Anfield doors, Diomande now feels like the most likely to join.
That is, if Romano's update about Yildiz is to be believed.
"Juventus reach verbal agreement with Kenan Yildiz and his camp over new long term deal," he wrote via his personal X account.
"New contract will be valid for the next four years as Yildiz has agreed to put pen to paper with salary increased.
"He’s gonna be among the best paid players in the squad."
Liverpool forced into Yan Diomande transfer
Liverpool may have other attacking options on their summer shortlist than just Diomande and Yildiz.
However, with the form that both players have been in this season and their ages, it feels like one of the aforementioned duo would be the perfect additions for the Reds.
Both players have been essential to the recent performances of their teams, and, even though Liverpool spent over £450 million on new players this season, there's probably still some wriggle room in their transfer war chest.
Salah's contract is set to expire next season and, even though Federico Chiesa and Rio Ngumoha could fill in for the Egyptian King should he choose to leave, neither of them are at his level.
This is why, even though both Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak were brought in, that it wouldn't be much of a surprise to see their attack go through yet another revamp.
However, now that Yildiz is likely to be off the market, the 'unbelievable' Diomande seems like Liverpool's best option, especially if they want to build their team for the future.
