Liverpool are also spending a British-record sum on Florian Wirtz, who moves to Anfield from the BayArena for an astonishing £116m.

Very soon the Reds will have sent over £130m Leverkusen’s way this summer - with more to come in the form of Wirtz’s add-ons.

Liverpool need to claw back money in sales

Although Liverpool have kept their powder dry in recent transfer windows - not to mention an uplift in cash due to new sponsorship opportunities, prize money and a kit deal with Adidas - there is still a need to balance the books.

FSG likes to operate on a one-in, one-out basis and the Reds will need to ensure sales in the next few weeks. If Liverpool can’t get decent outgoing business done, it could put a cap on summer spending.

That’s why the latest reports of an imminent deal for a Liverpool player to JOIN Leverkusen will be very welcome on Merseyside.

Leverkusen agree deal for Quansah

Fabrizio Romano is now reporting that Jarell Quansah has agreed to move to the Bundesliga side on a permanent transfer worth over £30m.

“Jarell Quansah has verbally agreed personal terms with Bayer Leverkusen! Bayer and Liverpool are closing in on permanent deal, understand it will be worth £30m plus add-ons for the defender,” the Italian transfer sensation writes on X.

Out of favour under Arne Slot, Quansah only made four Premier League starts last season. Quansah is highly valued due to his long-term contract and also his homegrown status - meaning any deal for the centre-back will go into the books as PURE profit.
