Dramatic twist: Liverpool legend suddenly set to leave with Mo Salah
Mo Salah and Andy Robertson aren't the only legendary figures set to leave Liverpool this summer.
It was reported earlier in the week that Alisson Becker wasn't going to head to Italy. His wage demands were too high and Juventus, the best-placed club to sign him, couldn't afford the financial package.
In fact, David de Gea was named as an alternative target for the Old Lady by Tuttosport, such was their difficult in signing Alisson.
Well, things can turn around very quickly. Now all reports suggest Alisson will join Juventus and leave Liverpool after eight years.
It's now claimed that Giorgi Mamardashvili will be the Reds' no.1 going forward, taking on the focus of Liverpool's future plans. Alisson will be allowed to leave as a result, with one journalist claiming he's already agreed terms with Juve.
This one is simply coming down to the fee. Gazzetta Dello Sport now makes that clear, too, with all reporting in Italy suggesting Alisson's deal is only a matter of time.
Liverpool will lose Mo Salah this summer. Andy Robertson will also depart with the end of his contract. Alisson is set to join them - three of the biggest players in Jurgen Klopp's best-in-the-world team.
The new era is here, though. We just need some emotional goodbyes first.
Alisson Becker: Situation Summary
Season Stats and Injury Update
As of 24 April 2026, Alisson Becker has made 25 Premier League appearances this season, recording eight clean sheets and an 81% pass completion rate. He has also kept four clean sheets in six Champions League matches. However, the 33-year-old has missed the last six games with a hamstring injury. In today's press conference, Arne Slot confirmed Alisson is nearing a return, though tomorrow's match against Crystal Palace may come too early. With backup Giorgi Mamardashvili ruled out for several weeks due to a knee wound, Freddie Woodman is poised to start if Alisson isn't ready.
Contract and Juventus Agreement
Despite Liverpool recently triggering a 12-month extension to keep him until June 2027, reports on 22 April indicate Alisson has reached a verbal agreement to join Juventus this summer. He is reportedly open to a Serie A return, and while he respects Liverpool, talks with his camp are expected soon to assess his future.
International Standing
Alisson remains Brazil’s undisputed number one under Carlo Ancelotti. Despite his recent injury lay-off, he is expected to be in "full playing condition" to lead the Seleção at the 2026 World Cup this June.
