Florian Wirtz's REACTION to Liverpool's latest €140m offer
Liverpool have made another offer to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen. Here's what the player himself thinks.
Liverpool want to sign Florian Wirtz. In truth, they've wanted to sign him for a very long time but the right opportunity hasn't come up.

But now it has. Bayer Leverkusen are open to selling with two years remaining on their star player's contract.
More importantly, Wirtz wants to move to Anfield. He's picked the Reds over Bayern Munich and Manchester City, the other two clubs eager to sign him this summer.
It's no shock as to why Liverpool want him. Wirtz is one of the best players in the world.
The bigger question is whether they can afford him. Leverkusen have held onto their €150m asking price and rejected a few offers from Liverpool up to now.
Liverpool improve Wirtz offer
Liverpool have now upped their offer for Wirtz, per several reports. This pushes things to around €140m and far closer to Leverkusen's asking price.
Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg explained things in an interview with Sky Sports.
"The total package is now worth almost €150m," he says. "With a big package of possible add-ons included.
"We didn't get confirmation two days ago for the 'full' agreement as some details and figures need to be clarified."
Importantly, Plettenberg revealed Wirtz's stance on proceedings after this latest offer.
"Florian Wirz is totally convinced that the deal will happen in the next couple of days," says Plettenberg. "I'm sure we can report about a done deal in the next week."
Everything continues to move in the right direction, then. Wirtz is confident, Liverpool are confident and we imagine Leverkusen are confident, too.
Lurking in the background, after all, is what happens if they don't find a deal here. It would mean Wirtz sticking around for another year, his price plummeting as he enters the final year of his deal in 2026.

On top of that, it almost certainly increases the chances of Wirtz joining Bayern Munich. That's another factor Leverkusen will be eager to avoid. Thankfully for all parties, it does appear this will get done.
