Liverpool FC News: Reds finally land NEW Thiago
Sometimes it feels like Thiago was a fever dream.
He came, he dazzled us but only fleetingly, leaving us with so much more desire. Thiago was a sensational footballer. The kind of footballer you just want to watch over and over again.

He made football look easy. He made it look alluring. From the exquisite technique to his first touches and his incredible vision - the Spaniard was one of a kind.
It's just a shame that his body had sort of given up on himself towards the end of his career. Especially, because a prime Thiago would have absolutely thrived in Arne Slot's current system.
But while Thiago is gone, his legacy endures and there is one young Liverpool star who has suggested he's looking to follow in the Spaniard's footsteps.

One Liverpool youngster who had the privilege of seeing Thiago in training was Trey Nyoni. Now the teenage midfielder has revealed he's trying to style his game in Thiago's style.
"Just his calmness on the ball, how elegant he is and he was also underrated off the ball as well – he used to work hard a lot as well. Just his elegance on the ball is just top," Nyoni told Liverpool's official website.
He also revealed in the interview that he feels comfortable playing even deeper, as a holding midfielder, than we had seen him play for the first team.
"I was playing midfield before I came here, so I had already started playing in all different roles – like a six, eight and 10," Nyoni said.
"I think it's good for me anyway because I feel like I get a lot of the ball. I'm happy to be on the pitch anywhere but I like playing as a six or eight.
"I feel that's where I'm most comfortable because I like when I can see the game and can play the ball through the lines."
The numbers back up what Nyoni is saying as well. Under Slot he's played just under 400 minutes - including pre-season friendlies.
In those minutes he's attempted 207 passes and has misplaced just 14 of them - meaning his pass completion for Liverpool's first team this season is 93.2%.
This makes him the Liverpool player with the best pass completion rate this season behind Curtis Jones who averages 93% in all competitions.
Nyoni's elegance was clear for all to see in Liverpool's disappointing defeat to Plymouth. He completed 95% of his passes in that game and made eight passes into the final third.
The midfielder was probably Liverpool's best player on the pitch.
More recently, he dominated the U21s' last game against Aston Villa, completing 93% passes in that game.

Obviously, he's got a long way to go but it seems like the Reds could have finally landed their Thiago successor who can step into his shoes in the years to come.
