Second world-class Liverpool LEGEND could follow Mo Salah exit
It could be a year of real change at Liverpool as a second legend is linked with an exit. This won't be an easy one.
Mo Salah's future is up in the air right now. No one seems to know what's going to happen after his outburst at the weekend.
Salah spoke publicly about being out of the starting XI for three consecutive matches. He feels as though he's being scapegoated and certainly, he's the only player dropped for all three games.
Now, things would be simpler if Liverpool won those games. Instead, they beat West Ham United before drawing against newly-promoted Sunderland and newly-promoted Leeds United.
The subsequent 1-0 win at Inter was a step in the right direction but Salah feels as though Liverpool's struggles this season have been placed at his feet. That, if true, is absolutely unfair.
Notably, his comments came just days after he was linked strongly with a move to the Saudi Pro League. They've wanted to sign him for some time now and see his current situation as an opportunity.
Maybe, then, the meeting with Brighton this weekend could be his final match with Liverpool.
Alisson Becker to follow?
It seems Salah isn't the only potential exit next year. Alisson Becker's future is also in doubt as he technically comes to the end of his contract.
Liverpool have an option to add a year to his contract, though, and it's widely expected that they will do. There isn't much of a reason not to, in fact.
Sky Sports report that AC Milan hope to sign Alisson, however. They feel he's a low-cost replacement for Mike Maignan, who will leave the club in the summer.
They're chasing a world-class replacement, which Alisson certainly is, and seem to believe that Liverpool will let him go. It is a complicated one, though.
If the Reds just want rid, then they shouldn't trigger their contract option. But why give up Alisson for free? Moreover, why give him up at all? He's still the best goalkeeper at the club and one of the world's best.
So we're not sure what the situation is here. Milan have reason to believe he's available, though it's not clear why. What is for sure, is that we're approaching the true end of an era as Jurgen Klopp's great side leave piece by piece.
2026 may well see two of the all-time greats from that team leave for good.
