Liverpool dropped another two points on Saturday after they drew 3-3 with Leeds United.

The two sides faced one another in a Premier League clash which most thought that the Reds would win.

However, after their recent run of form, nothing is guaranteed and to be honest, the fact that they ended up drawing the game after being 2-0 up is massively concerning.

Once again, Hugo Ekitike and Dominik Szoboszlai were let down by their teammates with Michael Owen singling out three players who had a particularly poor outing.

Liverpool are now eighth in the Premier League table with just two points separating them from the Champions League places.

At the top of the table, Arsenal are way out in front with 10 points between the two teams.

And, even though we're almost halfway through the season, it still feels like a lot more could come from the Reds.

That is, especially if they manage to get their act together and prove Owen wrong.

While speaking live on Stan Sport, Owen shared his thoughts on Liverpool's poor form during set-pieces and outlined how frustrated he is by the recent form of players such as Virgil van Dijk, Alisson and Ibrahima Konate.

“It’s shocking really," he said.

“When you consider the height [of the team] you know Van Dijk and Konate [are] two of the best headerers of the ball, Alisson is one of the best goalkeepers, it’s very frustrating.”

Liverpool must get their act together before it's too late

One of the main takeaways from the 2025-26 season for Liverpool and their fans is that lots of change all at once doesn't always work.

Last season, Slot inherited Jurgen Klopp's team and due to how good of a manager the German was, it more or less played itself.

However, now that Liverpool have spent over £400million and have given the Dutchman his own team to play with, things just haven't gone to plan.

Most fans and pundits thought that the Dutchman's team would've been unstoppable but, in reality, that's been far from the case with questions now being asked about whether the Reds really needed to sign as many players as they did in the summer.
