Liverpool in contact for INCREDIBLE €80m striker
Liverpool have conducted stunning transfer business so far this summer. Reds fans can be very excited about the imminent arrivals of Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez and Giorgi Mamardashvili.
But sporting director Richard Hughes and head coach Arne Slot won’t stop there. An upgrade is also on the cards in the striker department.

Darwin Nunez hasn’t convinced Slot throughout his time at the club so far - and looks set for an exit to Napoli if the two sides can soon come to an agreement.

Diogo Jota too is under some threat. His contract expires in 2027 and Liverpool may opt to cash in on the injury-prone Portuguese.
Liverpool need a new No9
The next phase of Liverpool’s transfer plans will require significant outgoings - following on from a near £200m outlay on new players.
And if Liverpool receive the money they seek for Nunez then the proceeds could be immediately ploughed into a replacement.
We’ve seen links to Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike, Victor Osimhen and Joao Pedro. To that list we can add one more player in the shape of Viktor Gyokeres.
That’s according to a new report from the Correio da Manha, which claims the Reds have entered the race for the wantaway Sporting CP striker.
Sporting want €80m for Gyokeres
Sporting rejected Arsenal’s opening offer for the Swede and the player is said to be downcast at the thought of missing out on a move.
The Portuguese champions are said to be holding out for €80m for the 27-year-old - and the report adds that Liverpool have no intention of paying that amount.
But with Isak going for north of £100m, this price might well be judged as reasonable for a marksman who scored 39 goals in 33 league games last season.
Gyokeres the missing piece of the jigsaw
Gyokeres is under contract until 2028 but is widely expected to depart this summer. The Portuguese report adds that Liverpool see Gyokeres as the missing piece of the jigsaw in their ambitions to win the Champions League.
It also states that club representatives have reached out over the last few days to confirm the terms of a deal.

Gyokeres will go down as one of the best signings in Sporting history - netting 97 goals in 102 games, adding 28 more assists since arriving from Coventry in 2023.
