Bradley Barcola's forward teammate makes decision over Liverpool move

It looks like Liverpool are moving ever closer to signing Bradley Barcola.

The 23-year-old won’t sign a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain and his current deal expires in 2028. Therefore the European champions have been backed into a corner and are likely to strike a deal while his value remains sky-high.

The France international is worth around £100m to £130m according to various reports - meaning Liverpool will need to pay top dollar to get their man.

PSG left short in attack

The move will leave PSG short of a wide attacker - even though Barcola wasn’t always a guaranteed starter.

Luis Enrique’s side have also lost Goncalo Ramos to AC Milan as well as Lee Kang-In to Atletico Madrid. The Parsians are therefore looking a little light in attack beyond their usual star trio Ousmane Dembele, Desire Doue and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

One solution seems to be adding Maghnes Akliouche from AS Monaco.

Liverpool are also competing for Barcola's fellow France FIFA World Cup international teammate - who looks set to move on from the Principality side this summer.

The Reds are still lacking a Mohamed Salah-type profile in attack - with Akliouche fitting the bill. Santi Aouna is now reporting that Akliouche is ready to turn his back on Liverpool in favour of securing a move to the Parc des Princes outfit.

That’s despite a deal with the Premier League side being worth MORE than what PSG are offering.

“Despite Liverpool's interest, Maghnes Akliouche wants to join PSG,” he writes on X.

“The Reds are ready to offer AS Monaco more than PSG, but the player's desire is clear: he only wants Paris.

“Discussions continue between the two clubs.”

Maghnes Akliouche is an elegant, left-footed attacking midfielder and right winger who has broken through at AS Monaco.

A product of the club's academy, the 24-year-old thrives on technical dribbling, vision, and cutting inside from the right flank to create or score.

He established himself under Adi Hütter, recently earning his first senior France call-up after a strong start to the 2025-26 season.

His contract situation is stable, having signed an extension with Monaco in July 2024 that runs until June 2028.

This long-term commitment means Monaco holds significant leverage in any negotiations, protecting his market value and allowing them to dictate terms.

Despite heavy Premier League interest, his immediate transfer destiny appears to lie elsewhere. Liverpool made multiple offers in July 2026, but Akliouche reportedly rejected the Anfield move in favor of a switch to Paris Saint-Germain.

With his mind seemingly made up on joining the French champions, a domestic transfer looks to be the most likely outcome.
