Nottingham Forest want £100m for Anderson

It’s been suggested that the Premier League champions may freshen up their options as soon as the January transfer window with Elliot Anderson now appearing on the radar.

The England midfielder, 23, has been sensational since swapping Newcastle for Nottingham Forest in summer 2024 - forcing his way into Thomas Tuchel’s Three Lions reckoning ahead of the FIFA World Cup.

According to a report in TEAMtalk Forest have placed a £100m price tag on Anderson - who is under contract with the Tricky Trees until 2029.

Manchester United are another one of the clubs thought to be interested in the midfielder - but Liverpool’s interest along with that of Man City has left the Old Trafford outfit fearing for their prospects of signing him.

“Manchester United are a little concerned about the rising competition to sign Nottingham Forest star Elliot Anderson,” the report reads.

“Forest have been positioning his market value close to the £100million mark.”

That’s because Liverpool and City are more likely to finish higher up than United in the Premier League table and have proven trophy-winning pedigree in recent seasons.

Therefore Liverpool entering the race would be bad news for Ruben Amorim’s side - as the player would surely be more tempted by Anfield.

“Liverpool have also been tracking Anderson in case they decide to strengthen their midfield options in the upcoming window.”

Liverpool have begun talking about new contracts for both Gravenberch and Szoboszlai. The midfield has not had an overhaul since 2023 and therefore a new signing is likely in the next couple of windows.
