In a recent report from France Football journalist Nabil Djellit it’s been claimed that Liverpool have agreed a €1m fee with Diambars FC in Senegal for promising winger Sidy Barhama Ndiaye.

Liverpool impressed by Sidy Barhama Ndiaye

The 15-year-old wouldn’t be eligible to move to the Premier League champions until December 31 2027 - when he turns 18 - but it makes sense to secure the future of one of African football’s most promising talents at this early juncture.

Reds’ recruiters were reportedly impressed with Ndiaye’s performances in the recent Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations. The teen talent featured in all four of Senegal’s matches before they dropped out of the tournament at the quarter-final stage.

Liverpool agree €1m deal for Ndiaye

Described as a pacy winger, Ndiaye mostly played from the right but is also capable of playing as a left-wing option too.

“Info: Liverpool were impressed by Sidy Barhama Ndiaye during the last U17 Africa Cup of Nations,” the journalist wrote on X.

“The Senegalese winger (born in 2009) is set to leave the Diambars academy to (likely) join Liverpool.

“The transfer fee is estimated at €1 million. Great work happening in Senegal. Bravo.”

Ndiaye is a "really exciting talent"

Ndiaye will have impressed Liverpool scouts with his ball-carrying ability and work-rate during the tournament.

Described as a “really exciting talent” by Bence Bocsak, Ndiaye averaged 8.84 dribbles per 90 minutes at the African showpiece.

He also made 3.5 recoveries per 90 in the opposition half and averaged 6.32 defensive duels per 90 throughout the tournament.

“He’s extremely fast, already playing an age-group above his own and standing out. Looks like a proper Liverpool winger,” says Bocsak.
