Liverpool in pole position for DREAM forward
Liverpool have been tipped to conduct a transfer overhaul up front this summer. It’s no secret that Darwin Nunez is seen as surplus to requirements - and there is every possibility that the Reds could sign an upgrade at centre-forward.
Diogo Jota, too, could be looking over his shoulder having to fail to convince during Arne Slot’s first season. Liverpool could extract around £100m for those two in the transfer market if they play their cards right.

And that sum, combined with the savings made on the wage bill, could provide the ideal conditions to improve the strike line.
We’ve seen players like Joao Pedro and Hugo Ekitike linked this summer - but there is one name which has always stood out above all.

Alexander Isak, 25, has made his name as one of the best No9s in the game - firing 23 Premier League goals for Newcastle last season and helping them back to the Champions League.
Isak is the dream
Under contract until 2028, Newcastle would love to extend the Sweden international’s deal but there are currently no signs of that happening. If the Magpies FAIL to tie down their star attraction then it could open the door to a sale.
And despite previous reports to the contrary, it’s now been claimed that Liverpool CAN afford Isak along with Florian Wirtz this summer and he remains their ideal candidate for the centre-forward position.
“Liverpool still see him as their dream signing,” TBR Football’s transfer expert Graeme Bailey says. Asked if the club can complete deals for both Isak AND Wirtz this summer, he replied: “100%, 100%.”
Liverpool in pole position for Isak
“Liverpool were in for a mega summer this summer. They’ve got the funds and the resources there to do both deals. Just look at the potential sales: Kelleher, Nunez, Jota, Chiesa, those four alone could cover the Wirtz fee, and they already had a significant war chest set aside for a striker.
“Isak is the dream and I think because Liverpool’s confidence that’s where Arsenal’s interest is waning slightly.
“I’ve been told Liverpool in pole position. If Isak leaves Liverpool are in pole position and I think Arsenal learned that and that’s why they backed off slightly as well not just because they can’t afford him because Arsenal probably could if they wanted to because it’s 120 million.”
The Gunners appear to have moved elsewhere for a striker with Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig said to be linked heavily.

But Arne Slot and Richard Hughes will be licking their lips at the prospect of landing - perhaps - the best No9 in the world should he become available.

I don't think Alexander Isak is the best No9 in the world at the moment. He's definitely the best in the Premier League, but the honour of the world's best No9 right now belongs to Victor Osimhen. He has been unplayable for the past two-plus seasons. If we (Liverpool) can get him to reduce his wage demands, I'd prefer him to lead our frontline. If we can get him to join Liverpool, and with Florian Wirtz playing behind him, we will definitely retain the Premier League title and have another player finishing as the league's top scorer besides the great Mo Salah.
