Of course, the signing of Hugo Ekitike has brought a smile to many fans' faces, since our striker problem now has a permanent fix, but the proposition of Liverpool replacing Darwin Nunez with their first-choice striker target in Isak, is a potential move that has left us all feeling speechless.
Not least because the financial outlook of such transfer business is mind-boggling. But when you take a closer look at things, Liverpool still have sellable assets which can smooth out the process.
The trump card that can deliver Isak to Liverpool
Everyone is talking about the money the Reds have spent so far this summer, and let's be clear - it is extraordinary - but it's signing Isak on top of our spending remains a genuine possibility this summer.
And the reason is because of players like Luis Diaz and Nunez, who are expected to bring in a significant amount when they are sold. Moves for the Uruguayan are being considered for around £50-60m and while the club would make a loss with that figure, it's still not a small transfer fee.

Now that Ekitike is at the club, Liverpool could decide to keep Nunez, which would mean Arne Slot still has two strikers to call upon, without any more money being spent, which be a frugal idea.
But a fee for Nunez could help go towards bringing in Isak and the impact of Diaz's possible move is also going to be huge. He's a player that Liverpool could quite easily be without next season since Cody Gakpo and Florian Wirtz can play at left-wing and Rio Ngumoha is already showing promise.
And so while the sale of Nunez is going to be pivotal for any move for Isak, the sale of Diaz is a trump card that the Reds can call upon to help make this deal work without needing to spend a lot of money.
Fabrizio Romano spoke of Liverpool's interest in Isak on Thursday, writing that Diaz's move is going to be important to the Isak negotiations and we now have movement on the Colombian's future.
Sacha Tavolieri is now reporting that a bid of €70m plus €10m in add-ons is expected in to come in from Bayern Munich for Diaz and Liverpool will not suppress the Colombian's desire to leave.
As such, we're talking about around £70m coming in for him, and once Nunez's sale of £50-60m is also agreed, then £130m could be raised in total - enough to meet Newcastle's demands for Isak.

Of course, this is a complex chain of events and it all feels a little like we're playing Football Manager rather than experiencing the movements of the transfer market in real life, but Liverpool are showing off their intent this summer and a chance to sign Isak is an opportunity that is too good to ignore.
