Liverpool have reportedly met with one star's agents ahead of a potential €100m mega deal.

Bild reports that Liverpool have met with the agency representing Yan Diomande. That's ROC Nation, who Diomande joined earlier this season in what was taken as evidence that he could move on from RB Leipzig after just a season.

Liverpool certainly hope that's the case. They've discussed a potential deal for Diomande, though no contact has been made with Leipzig as of yet. It's also important to note that they're not the only team to have done this: Paris Saint-Germain have also held talks.

At this stage, it does appear that these are the two heavyweights willing to battle for Diomande. Leipzig will demand around €100m for their star asset, signed just a year ago from Leganes.

Liverpool are eager to sign a new winger, having lost Luis Diaz last summer without a replacement. Mo Salah is now set to depart after this campaign, again leaving them short on wide players who can threaten goals.

In other words, there's a clear place at Liverpool for Diomande. PSG will fancy creating a place for him, though, as Bradley Barcola has been linked with an exit.

Funnily enough, Liverpool are considering a move for Barcola as a result, as explained by Anfield Watch. It could well be that this is win-win for the Reds - they land Diomande or they get Barcola as a consolation prize.

Diomande is their first-choice, however. He's the one they're pushing for and these talks should just be the beginning of their major summer chase.

Yan Diomande: Situation Summary

Bundesliga Performance and Stats

As of 24 April 2026, Yan Diomandé has established himself as one of Europe’s most exciting prospects at RB Leipzig. The 19-year-old Ivorian winger has recorded 12 goals and five assists in 2,148 minutes of Bundesliga action this season, maintaining an impressive average FotMob rating of 7.64 and an 88% pass completion rate. He also leads the "Golden Boy 2026" race following a breakout campaign that included two Rookie of the Month awards. Since his €18 million move from CD Leganés in 2025, his market valuation has officially climbed to €27.6 million, though his transfer price tag is significantly higher.

Transfer Battle and Salah Succession

Diomandé is currently the subject of an intense transfer tug-of-war. Reports from 23 April indicate that Liverpool have identified him as the primary successor to Mohamed Salah and are prepared to pay Leipzig’s €100 million (£87m) asking price. While Diomandé is reportedly "excited" by the prospect of moving to Anfield, competition is fierce; Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, and Arsenal are all in talks with his representatives at Roc Nation. Manchester City have also emerged as a late contender, reportedly willing to break their transfer record to hijack the deal.

International Standing

On the international stage, Diomandé has become a vital component of the Ivory Coast national team. He scored once during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and is widely expected to be a breakout star at the 2026 World Cup this June, where "Les Éléphants" face a group containing Germany, Ecuador, and Curaçao.
