Liverpool make 'enquiry' for 28-goal sensation
Andoni Iraola and Richard Hughes still have a lot of deals to make before Liverpool are ready to be classed as title contenders again.
Indeed, the fact that Alexander Isak will be back fit is going to be massive for the Reds but, with Mohamed Salah gone, change is clearly needed.
The Egyptian King has been one of the Reds' main attacking outlets over the last few years and, even though he wasn't at his best last term, he still managed to contribute to 22 goals across all competitions.
22 goals is obviously an awful lot to replace and, although Victor Munoz will probably be able to cover some of them, it's clear that another attacker or two still needs to be brought in by Liverpool.
That's why, until the window slams shut, it wouldn't be a surprise to see the Reds get linked with attackers every other day.
And now, they have reportedly made an enquiry about another forward.
Liverpool and Man United have both made enquiries for Francisco Conceicao
At the moment, the right-wing market is lacking.
Over the last year or so, Antoine Semenyo and Yan Diomande have been the two most-linked right-wingers with a Liverpool move.
And, because of one thing or another, neither of those deals have worked out.
This has led the Reds to be linked with many other players and now, in a fresh update from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Liverpool have now set their eyes on another new winger.
"The powerful agent Jorge Mendes regarding the future of Conceiçao, who will be away from Juventus," they wrote.
"This is partly due to the enquiries from the wealthy Premier League (Manchester United and Liverpool), partly due to his position (Alajbegovic can also play on the right), and partly due to Khephren Thuram, who was removed from the transfer market due to injury.
"The Frenchman will miss the Asia-Pacific tour. The Bianconeri must make (at least) one transfer to keep the books, and have decided to sacrifice Cristiano Ronaldo's compatriot, the number 7."
Francisco Conceicao would be an interesting signing for Liverpool
Aside from Bradley Barcola, most of the wingers that Liverpool have been linked with this summer have been fairly unproven.
And, most of them have been left-wingers by trade, rather than right-wingers.
Each of these issues are rather difficult things to deal with, especially since the Reds will want to be back challenging for silverware as soon as possible.
So, Conceicao being linked makes a lot of sense. The attacker is slightly older than Said El Mala and Matias Fernandez-Pardo who are two other attackers who have also been linked with a switch.
And, to make things even sweeter, the Portugal international even featured in four games for his country at the 2026 World Cup.
Throughout the entirety of his career, the former Porto ace has only netted 28 goals but, his versatility coupled with his vast experience across multiple leagues are what sets him apart from Liverpool's other targets.
Indeed, the fact that Juventus want around €50 million for him isn't ideal but, compared to RB Leipzig and PSG who want well over €100 million for Diomande and Barcola, Conceicao might end up being a steal.
Obviously, a lot of things could still change but, at the moment, the Juventus ace feels like Liverpool's best option to explore.
