Arsenal to let winger join Liverpool, deal could move fast

Arsenal are to step aside and let a winger join Liverpool. Things could move fast if the Reds want them to.

Liverpool are in the market for another winger this summer, despite signing Victor Munoz from Osasuna. For good reason, too - Mohamed Salah's exit backs them into a corner.

The Reds lacked production from wide areas last season and Salah, despite his sub-par campaign, remained their most productive wide player. Liverpool needed to sign someone anyway, and that exit made it absolutely vital that something major happened.

Munoz, for all his quality, won't be enough on his own. That's why Liverpool are still shopping for a big-money deal, with Yan Diomande at the top of their shopping list.

Diomande rejected them, however, and now appears to be joining Real Madrid. Paris Saint-Germain also have a solid chance of getting him, though.

Their backup option? Bradley Barcola. News broke on Sunday that the winger has rejected the chance to renew his contract with PSG and will instead try to leave the club.

L'Equipe claims that three clubs front the queue: Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Liverpool. However, other reports, such as from Fabrizio Romano, suggest that Barcola himself wants Liverpool.

Arsenal are willing to accept that, too. A further report from L'Equipe suggests that they don't believe PSG are offering proper value with a sale, and that the €120m being chased is far more than the €90m they'd be willing to pay.

Thus the Gunners will step aside here and 'let' Liverpool complete a deal if they'd like. Now we just need to wait and see if the Reds actually view €120m on Barcola as a solid investment.
