Liverpool could strike a surprise swap deal as moves are starting to happen. Let's see what they decide.

Reports in Italy strongly suggest that Alisson Becker is heading to Juventus. The Liverpool goalkeeper has just one year remaining on his contract but could depart early.

In fact, some reports suggest that Alisson has already agreed terms with Juve. Now all that's left is finding an agreement with Liverpool and it's thought that around €15m will make a deal happen.

But Gazzetta Dello Sport suggests Liverpool and Juventus may have another method. They've floated the idea of Michele Di Gregorio going in the other direction.

Alisson would replace Di Gregorio, after all. The Italian is also a goalkeeper Liverpool tried to sign before he went to Turin - they're fans, even if he hasn't set the world alight since moving to Juve.

It also seems that Liverpool are looking at a new goalkeeper. Goal reports they've expressed an interest in signing James Trafford from Manchester City and it may well be easier for them to go for Di Gregorio.

It's one to watch, then, as reports of Alisson heading to Italy gather pace. A deal that suits everyone involved, in fact.

Michele Di Gregorio: Situation Summary

Juventus Performance and Hierarchy

As of 24 April 2026, Michele Di Gregorio is navigating a challenging period at Juventus. The 28-year-old has recorded 34 appearances this season, keeping 15 clean sheets across all competitions, including 11 in Serie A. Despite these numbers, he was recently dropped for four consecutive matches following a string of high-profile errors, with Luciano Spalletti briefly favouring Mattia Perin. However, Perin’s recent calf injury forced Di Gregorio back into the line-up; he responded by keeping consecutive clean sheets in wins over Atalanta and Bologna, maintaining an average FotMob rating of 7.12.

Transfer Status and Future

Di Gregorio’s future in Turin is uncertain as Juventus reportedly plan a significant goalkeeping overhaul. While he joined from Monza in 2024 for €18 million, reports suggest the Bianconeri are pursuing Liverpool's Alisson Becker as their "dream target" for next season. To avoid a capital loss, Juventus would need to recoup at least €11 million for Di Gregorio, who remains highly regarded by other Serie A clubs. On the international stage, he remains Italy's second-choice goalkeeper behind Gianluigi Donnarumma and is expected to be part of the squad for the 2026 World Cup this June.
