Liverpool are changing a 17-year relationship. It's a massive shakeup for the Reds as they enter a new era - in more ways than one.

Strange times are ahead at Liverpool. That's been confirmed again and again over recent weeks as major boardroom changes took effect that shake things up in a major way.

The first was a massive investment. 1892 Holdings have purchased over a third of the club, with a view to buying the entire thing within the next 12 months. That's a move that could change everything about Liverpool.

Richard Hughes is out as sporting director, too. That's something everyone saw coming for around a year now and it was confirmed this week - the Reds will now need to hire someone new.

Liverpool announce Turkish Airlines deal

And now there's a third big change. Standard Chartered, Liverpool's front-of-shirt sponsor for the last 17 years, will move to being a 'global partner'. That's a major step back as the club announce a new FoS sponsor: Turkish Airlines.

It's a blockbuster deal, potentially record-breaking, as Liverpool rake in £300m over the course of a five-year contract.

And that's yet another sign of the new era on the horizon. New ownership, new sporting direction, and a new major sponsor for the first time in nearly two decades.

Exactly what will LFC look like, then? It's difficult to know or even have a rough idea before the decision makers are truly in place. This is a bold start, though, as Liverpool have struck an enormously lucrative deal that's up there with the absolute biggest in football.

There will be more madness to come, we're sure. On and off the pitch.
