The Scouser revealed that Ally McCoist tried to convince him to sign for Rangers. Carragher also claimed that ex-Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez was interested in him.

Anfield Watch Verdict

Carragher was a superb player for Liverpool between 1997-2013. The centre-back went on to make 737 appearances for the club's first-team.

Carragher also won nine major trophies with the Reds. The 43-year-old is a one-club player, which only enhances his legacy.

It is rare to find one-club players in the modern game. Therefore, we are glad that Carragher never signed for either Rangers or Wigan.
