On Wednesday though, Liverpool returned to training with only a few players involved. This included Freddie Woodman, Federico Chiesa, Joe Gomez, Jeremie Frimpong and the long anticipated appearance of Alexander Isak wearing Liverpool's training kit for the first time.

The rest of the team were still away on their holidays and coming back from international duty.

This gave an opportunity for Isak to get going in a Liverpool shirt and he definitely caught the eye with some of his finishes in Liverpool's Inside Training video footage on YouTube.

The training session was not just an opportunity for Isak to catch the eye but also for some of Liverpool's youngsters to make an impression with a plethora of them involved in the session.

From Jayden Danns to Kaide Gordon, Kieran Morrison and Wellity Lucky, a lot of Liverpool's young players were in action alongside, Isak, Frimpong, and co.

Among the most interesting names to be involved in the first team session led by Ruben Peters in Arne Slot's absence was Keyrol Figueroa.

The USMNT youth international has been catching the eye recently at U21 level and the recently turned 19-year-old forward got his opportunity to finally catch the eye in front of the club's first team coaches.

It was an opportunity long-time coming for Figueroa, who has been highly rated at the club from a young age and made his debut as an U15 player for the U18s.

Like a number of recent academy graduates such as Danns, Lewis Koumas and Bobby Clark, Figueroa is among the players at the club's academy who has a famous footballing father.

His dad, Maynor is a Wigan Athletic club legend, and played in the Premier League for many years for both Wigan and Hull City.

The goal he scored against Stoke City from his own-half is a cult moment in Premier League history and one that makes him an iconic figure in the history of the league.

He is also a Honduran international and former captain of the national team.

Keyrol will be hoping to follow in his father's footsteps. He's got a long way to go at the moment but he does have exciting potential.

At this moment in time, he would probably benefit from a loan move away from Liverpool. With Isak having arrived at the club, Hugo Ekitike, Federico Chiesa and Jayden Danns ahead of him in the pecking order as well as Will Wright fighting for a starting spot in the U21 side, Figueroa's development would be better served if he earned some senior experience at a lower level.

Training with the first team will have been a valuable experience for him though. Especially watching Isak, one of the best players in the world in his position. Hopefully, Figueroa will have taken a lot away from that encounter with the Swede.
