£160k per week Liverpool legend lined up for Hollywood deal
Long-serving Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson seems certain to be reaching the end of his Anfield career.
Turning 32 this month the Scotland captain has been at the club since 2017. But this season he’s lost his place in the team to £40m signing Milos Kerkez.
As it stands Robertson’s contract is due to expire in summer 2026 and there has been radio silence over a renewal. Earning a reported £160k per week it would be a surprise if Richard Hughes sanctions a deal like that for a reserve left-back.
And so Robbo will have to consider offers from elsewhere. Celtic and Atletico Madrid are among the teams named as potential suitors - while Tottenham came close to landing the defender in January.
According to a new report in TEAMtalk Wrexham now have plans to move in for Robertson - and the Hollywood-owned Championship outfit are also keen on adding Harry Wilson.
“Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson, who is also out of contract at the season’s end, is also being eyed as a potential signing,” the report reads.
Andy Robertson: Situation summary
Andy Robertson is into the final months of his Liverpool contract, with no extension agreed and multiple reports suggesting there is “no chance” of new terms as things stand.
Almost 32 and behind Milos Kerkez in the pecking order, his league minutes have dropped sharply this season, with Arne Slot largely using him as experienced depth and rotation.
Slot publicly insisted in January that Robertson would stay until the summer, but a free transfer then – with long‑mooted interest from Celtic and admirers in England and Spain – currently looks the likeliest outcome after nine hugely successful years at Anfield.
Analysis: Sign Wilson, let Robbo go
Liverpool have been linked with new left-backs. We could see a versatile player in the shape of Nathaniel Brown arrive for example to provide cover and competition for Kerkez.
And so an exit is looming into view for Robbo - who signed for the Reds from Hull City back in 2017.
But if Wilson is going to be on the move then the Premier League champions could do a lot worse than pick him up on a free transfer.
One of the top flight’s most consistent attacking threats this season Wilson could feature on the right wing or else in attacking midfield. He knows the club inside out with the 28-year-old having come through the system at Liverpool.
