Liverpool made shock £8m bid for little-known forward to replace Mo Salah
Mohamed Salah has been suggested as a potential Liverpool departure this summer.
The Egyptian King is under contract at Anfield until 2027 - but the club could accept offers at the end of the current season. Salah, 33, is earning around £400k per week and isn’t putting in performances worth that kind of money on a regular basis these days.
He retains significant interest in Saudi Arabia and MLS - and therefore an attractive offer could entice Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes into doing business.
Focus would then turn on which player could come to Anfield as a replacement - with the likes of Yan Diomande, Bradley Barcola and Michael Olise mentioned.
Those would command top fees - perhaps even into the hundreds of millions - and there remains the option of adding a cut-price option.
Liverpool made a bid for Dario Osorio
That would bring Dario Osorio back into contention - with it being reported by Campo in Denmark that Liverpool have failed in a £7.5m to £8.7m bid to land the Chilean winger.
That was deemed “nowhere near” enough to land the FC Midtjylland wideman - who is under contract until 2030.
The 22-year-old is now attracting big interest from across the Premier League with Arsenal, Bournemouth, West Ham and Fulham all emerging as candidates to land the Chile international.
The report cites Bournemouth as the most likely team to land Osorio - having scouted him in person at the MCH Arena. Liverpool are named as long-term suitors for the left-footer - who is most capable playing on the right side of the attack.
He is described as under consideration by the Reds - being placed in and among a long list of attacking targets.
Darío Osorio: Situation summary
Darío Osorio is a 22-year-old Chile international winger/attacking midfielder at FC Midtjylland, having joined from Universidad de Chile in 2023 and established himself as one of the Danish side’s key creative outlets.
Primarily used off the right but comfortable on either flank, he plays as an inverted wide player who drifts inside to link play, break lines with quick combinations and threaten goal with his ball-striking from the edge of the box.
His game is built on technique rather than raw physicality: clean first touch, sharp ball control in tight areas, disguised passing and powerful, whipped deliveries from set plays and wide zones.
Tactically, he suits possession-heavy sides who want their wide players to come inside, overload midfield and attack half-spaces, but he also offers threat in transition through aggressive pressing and direct ball-carrying.
Contracted to Midtjylland until 2030, he is being closely monitored by Arsenal, Liverpool and Bayern, though current reporting suggests more concrete summer interest from Fulham, West Ham and Bournemouth at a mooted fee in the £10–12m range.
