Take the transfer of Milos Kerkez for example. His family were pictured in a video praising Richard Hughes for bringing the Hungarian to Bournemouth in the first place. Now they're both at Liverpool.

So while we might see players linked with the club that were previously considered by Michael Edwards when he was the sporting director, we're now seeing a similar thing with Hughes' favourites.

Liverpool to buy two strikers?

We're already aware of the movement on Hugo Ekitike over the last few days and Liverpool will feel they have embarrassed Newcastle throughout that entire process. It's a remarkable tale of events.

But that shouldn't stop the plausibility of another forward joining the Reds this summer as well.

According to TBR Football, referencing a report from The Athletic, we could see Nicolas Jackson join from Chelsea, since Hughes was on the verge of signing him for Bournemouth back in 2023.

Back then, it was reported that the Cherries had actually agreed a deal with Villarreal, but a failed medical meant he never joined. However, two years later, the 24-year-old is available once again.

The report claims: "Jackson's camp have been contracting clubs about a potential move away from Chelsea. Jackson's agents are concerned about his situation at Chelsea and they are exploring options that could be available to the striker."

As such, it a move is in the realms of possibility if Hughes still thinks he has untapped potential.

His time at Chelsea has been scorned by many fans, but across the two seasons he has spent in London, he has 30 goals and 12 assists to show for his efforts, which is not a bad return at all.

Furthermore, the ownership model at Chelsea is known for being particularly ruthless and so it is unsurprising that Jackson hasn't been given long to prove himself with Liam Delap and Joao Pedro coming in to replace him, despite his reasonable form. Perhaps a new environment is what he needs.
