Liverpool get answer in discussions for PSG forward
Liverpool have got big plans to overhaul their attack in the summer transfer window. Despite winning the Premier League in Arne Slot’s first season in charge, the Reds are not resting on their laurels.
We’ve already seen Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz arrive from Bayer Leverkusen. Frimpong, 24, was acquired after Richard Hughes activated his £29.5m release clause while Wirtz comes in for what could be a British-record £116m fee.

Barcola affected by Kvara arrival
That signing has had an impact on Bradley Barcola, who was only on the bench for the Champions League final. Luis Enrique’s first-choice front three would appear to be Kvara, Ousmane Dembele and Desire Doue.
That leaves no place for Barcola, who is nonetheless an effective back-up. The French international was therefore suggested as a potential departure from the Parc des Princes during this summer transfer window.
Acquired from Lyon for €45m back in 2023, Barcola is under contract until 2028. Given his quality and further potential to develop, it would take a sizeable fee from any interested clubs to move him on.
Liverpool make enquiry over Barcola
Liverpool are not the only club linked with a move for the 14-cap Frenchman however - with Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea and Bayern Munich all reported to be interested.
And in a new report on TBR Football it’s been claimed that all of the above clubs have reached out to PSG in an attempt to work out a deal for Barcola.
But suitors are set to be disappointed with the French giants not entertaining any efforts to dislodge Barcola this summer.
Liverpool told NO over Barcola
“Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea have all made enquiries for the player, along with Bayern Munich, but everyone has been told that there is no conversation to be had around Barcola – he is not for sale under any circumstance,” the report reads.
Liverpool would be well advised to keep an eye on the situation.

If Barcola cannot force his way back into PSG’s strongest XI then he made be open to an exit next summer.
Liverpool have got situations to resolve over wing options like Luis Diaz, Ben Doak and Federico Chiesa. There may well be an opportunity to strike further down the line.
