Liverpool line up MASSIVE free transfer
Liverpool are shaping up for a landmark summer in the transfer market. Jeremie Frimpong and Armin Pecsi have already been brought on board and confirmation will soon come over Milos Kerkez and Florian Wirtz.
Plans are also afoot to add a new centre-forward and there will be plenty of outgoings along the way in order to facilitate the arrivals.

There are going to be major changes in the centre-back department during this off-season.
Movement has already commenced on a deal to take Jarell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen. Joe Gomez could also be leaving if an acceptable offer is presented to both the club and the player.

The biggest uncertainty surrounds Ibrahima Konate. The France international is out of contract in 2026. If no agreement is reached over a new deal then he could be SOLD this summer in order to avoid losing him on a free next summer.
Could Liverpool take Guehi for free?
How would Liverpool replace him?
It has been reported that the England international is very much of interest to the Reds.
But now comes the twist.
Instead of making a deal with Crystal Palace over a transfer this summer, it’s been reported that Liverpool want to add Guehi on a free in 2026.
That’s according to the latest report in Rousing the Kop - which also states that Guehi has no intention of coming to Anfield in order to play second fiddle.
“Liverpool are exploring the idea of bringing Marc Guehi in on a free transfer during next summer’s transfer window,” the report reads.
“The 24-year-old is understood to be reluctant to arrive at Anfield as a third choice option as things stand.”
No space for Konate and Guehi
So now it looks like the futures of Konate and Guehi are very much entwined. If Konate refuses a new deal then Richard Hughes could offer him around this summer - and use the proceeds to fund a deal for Guehi.
But if Konate stays put in an attempt to run down his contract then Liverpool would be tempted to ask Guehi to do the same.

That would of course put Palace’s nose out of joint but this is the age of player power. What Liverpool lose in Konate, they gain in Guehi.

It would appear that there is space this summer at Anfield for either Konate or Guehi - but not both. The next few weeks are going to be crucial. Let’s wait and see.
