Forward will do EVERYTHING to push through €60m deal
Barcelona are moving for Nico Williams in a deal which has big ramifications for Luis Diaz. The Spanish winger, 22, is joining from Athletic Bilbao - with Barca now ready to trigger his release clause of around €60m.
That means they are very unlikely to pursue a deal for Diaz despite sporting director Deco considering Diaz his team’s dream target.

Ultimately, it appears Liverpool do not want to get into discussions with the Catalans over Diaz. The Reds are not pushing Diaz towards the exit - but according to previous reports the club would consider an offer of around €80m for the Colombian.

Diaz scored 13 goals in the Premier League last season and was often deployed as a No9. But he is out of contract in 2027 and there has been no breakthrough over a new deal.
As such the club are happy to consider a sale.
Barca would only pay €60m for Diaz
Barca, however, haven’t got near that valuation - and seem only capable of putting €60m on the table. And new reports suggest Diaz is taking matters into his own hands in order to push through a transfer to Camp Nou.
Sensing the Barca deal slipping through his fingers as the Spanish champions turn to Nico, Diaz has made it known that he is willing to do whatever it takes to get the move.
That’s according to a new report in Spain, which states Diaz wants Liverpool to accept a €60m sum for him - paid in instalments.
Diaz willing to do everything for Barca
“In recent hours, the player has taken the initiative and told those closest to him—and Barça itself—that he is willing to do everything possible to facilitate his signing,” the report states.

At this stage it’s not certain if Barca will back out of the Williams deal. The Athletic winger has got a lot of fans in the Barca dressing room - including Spain teammate Lamine Yamal.

Club management prefers Diaz, however, and only moved for Nico once it became apparent that a deal for the Colombian international was out of reach.
This one hasn’t yet concluded. Three are still turns to take.
