Insider LEAKS incredible Rio Ngumoha contract news
Rio Ngumoha has been one of the stories of Liverpool’s season. Signed in summer 2024 from Chelsea as a 15-year-old, the left winger has marched through the Liverpool age groups to take his place at the top table.
The England youth’s potential is unlimited - as demonstrated by his early-season contributions for Arne Slot’s side.

He pushed his way into contention with an all-star display in preseason before his true breakout moment against Newcastle on matchday 2 of the Premier League.

Summoned from the bench with the result in the balance, Ngumoha delivered the winner - becoming the youngest goalscorer in Liverpool history.
Ngumoha linked with Real Madrid
He was aged only 16 when that goal went in - but has since turned 17. Given his age, Ngumoha was operating on a scholar contract - becoming eligible for a first, professional deal when he turned 17 on August 29.
Liverpool fans might have been expecting to see Ngumoha presented across the club’s social media channels in an announcement of his new deal but it’s been all quiet on that front.
In fact, Spanish media has even suggested that owing to the lack of a pro deal that Real Madrid could steal in for Ngumoha - a player the 15-time European champions are keeping a close eye on.
Insider claims Ngumoha deal is done
But almost accidentally it’s been claimed that the forward HAS signed his new contract. That’s according to a new report from club insider Lewis Steele - who claims that the new deal will take Ngumoha well beyond the usual sums offered to players his age.
“Upon turning 17 a few weeks ago, Ngumoha was given a professional contract,” the report reads.
“Some insist that it is worth just £1,000 a week, based on Liverpool’s wage structure of not offering too much, too soon.
“This figure, however, is extremely conservative to say the least. One agent, who looks after several youth players, tells us that with bonuses and add-ons, Ngumoha will be earning much, much more.”
Ngumoha future secure
So it looks like Liverpool fans can rest easily. Ngumoha’s future is secure and he is sure to be given a bumper pay rise next year when he turns 18 and signs a much longer-term deal.
It speaks to the player’s potential that Liverpool were willing to sell Luis Diaz over the summer without replacing the 13-goal forward.
They knew that Ngumoha would be ready to take on some first-team duties this season but thanks to his goal against Newcastle - not to mention his impressive cameos against Burnley and Atletico Madrid - it’s only a matter of time before he is established as a genuine Liverpool star.
