Liverpool’s loan deals have been mixed at best this season.

Luca Stephenson is enjoying another fine spell north of the border with Dundee United and Vitezslav Jaros is improving his reputation at Ajax.

But some of the others have been a bust.

Harvey Elliott is stuck in limbo at Aston Villa while James McConnell has returned to the club having been recalled from Ajax.

Lewis Koumas was another sent back to base after a failed move to Birmingham City but he has been fixed up with another loan at Hull.

Goalkeeper Harvey Davies meanwhile was sent on loan to League Two Crawley Town for the 2025/26 season.

Harvey Davies recalled from loan

The 22-year-old got a strong sequence of games under his belt at the outset of the campaign but was ultimately dropped by Scott Lindsay’s side amid a poor run of results.

His fate was sealed during the January transfer window when Crawley brought in Huddersfield’s Jacob Chapman on loan. Liverpool took the decision to recall Davies with his move back to the AXA Training Centre confirmed on transfer deadline day.

Right now the England under-20 international’s future remains up in the air with a report on Liverpool.com confirming he is currently in first-team training alongside Alisson Becker and Giorgi Mamardashvili.

“Goalkeeper Harvey Davies was pictured back at the AXA after being recalled from his loan at League Two side Crawley in a move that went under the radar on deadline day,” the report reads.

“Although Davies had been playing regularly in December and the start of January, he was displaced after Crawley signed Huddersfield's Jacob Chapman on loan, with Liverpool subsequently deciding to recall him.”

National League loan possible for Harvey Davies

With the transfer window now closed Davies’ options for the rest of the campaign are quite strictly limited. He is unlikely to get any first-team football and - besides - the Reds’ senior goalkeeping ranks are stacked.

Not only does Davies have Alisson and Mamardashvili ahead of him in in the pecking order but he’s also got to contend with Freddie Woodman, Armin Pecsi and Fabian Mrozek - who has just been added to Arne Slot’s Premier League squad.

If he wants any senior football then he is going to have to look at National League level - one level below League Two where he’s previously been on loan.

“There is still the option for Davies to head out on loan to a National League side, with there being no transfer windows as such in non-league, but as things stand, he will train alongside Alisson Becker and Giorgi Mamardashvili for the remainder of the season.”

Although Davies has never appeared for the Liverpool first team he has been on the bench plenty of times under Jurgen Klopp and Arne Slot - including being called into the squad for matches in the Premier League and Champions League.
