Sixteen year old Rio Ngumoha's move from Chelsea last summer is a classic example, since he is now a regular feature in Liverpool's pre-season plans and occasional first-team training exercises.

Furthermore, Armin Pecsi was signed just a few weeks ago to bolster the goalkeeping department for years to come. For him to have experienced playing in European competitions at his age is huge.

The opportunities at Liverpool only come on a more regular basis and a new scalp is being looked at.

Liverpool keen on Fulham wonderkid

Fulham consider him to be the 'crown jewel' of their academy and it will concern the Cottagers that he is 'weighing up his substantial options ahead of committing to Fulham or moving elsewhere'.

The 16-year-old plays in attacking midfield and he's already got a taste of playing under-21 football.

As such, it's clear that he is destined for greatness and Liverpool will want to secure him if they can.

The leadership experience he brings after captaining the England U17s will be invaluable to the club's youth team and if we can provide a pathway for him to eventually play in the Premier League, then he would become the first player of Sri Lankan heritage to appear in the competition, making history.

Of course, there's a long way to go before we can consider that, but Fulham might want to entrust Liverpool with his development since the last piece of business the two teams completed was for Fabio Carvalho, who initially impressed fans before a permanent move to Brentford was agreed.

So this is one to get excited about as absolutely anything could happen. As mentioned earlier, there are 10 clubs interested and Fulham might well struggle to keep hold of him.

The project that Michael Edwards can offer him is thriving and shying away from such an opportunity would be a bold move.
