Liverpool are getting closer to another major transfer. They're now flying in for talks with a €100m winger.

Liverpool have done some incredible business this summer. Florian Wirtz is the highlight, of course, arriving for a club-record fee from Bayer Leverkusen.

Diogo Jota: Thank you

Wirtz is the Reds' first £100m player. He's one that feels absolutely destined to be a superstar for Liverpool and someone they've chased for a very long time, too.

They've made that one happen while also signing Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong to revitalise the full-back positions and hope to push on and grab Alexander Isak from Newcastle United for another record fee. It's all quite insane, honestly.

And they might not even stop there. Liverpool are reportedly flying in for talks over another superstar signing within the next week or so.

Liverpool to fly in for Rodrygo talks

AS reports that representatives from Liverpool will fly in for talks about Rodrygo 'in the coming days or weeks'. The Reds are keen to sign the winger but it does hinge on Luis Diaz leaving.

Bayern Munich hope to sign Diaz, and they reportedly made a formal offer to Liverpool this week. That was rejected as it fell some way below the asking price.

However, the interest in Rodrygo may change things. Diaz quite openly wants to leave the club and the chance to replace him with the Brazilian is a fantastic one.

Liverpool have been fans of Rodrygo for a long, long time. This is likely their last chance to sign him as an elite player. Swapping him in for a player who doesn't particularly want to be at the club anymore feels like too good an opportunity to pass up.

But the club will naturally want as much money for Diaz as possible in order to cover Rodrygo's fee. He's supposedly cost around €100m from Real madrid but we imagine he'd command far more in wages than Diaz does.

Balancing that will be the major test for this transfer. But it's one that Liverpool will try to make happen, it seems.

Rest in peace, Diogo Jota.
