Agency CONFIRMS talks with Liverpool star as uncertain future develops

One Liverpool star has been in confirmed talks with an agency as his uncertain future with Liverpool develops. Where do things go from here?

Liverpool moved on several first-team players over the summer as they reshaped their squad significantly. Caoimhin Kelleher, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jarell Quansah, Harvey Elliott, Luis Diaz, and Darwin Nunez were all sold for relatively good money.

And that's a massive chunk of the first-team. Virtually all of them played a key role in one way or another either last season or the season before.

But perhaps the craziest part of it all is that Liverpool didn't actually want to stop there. They attempted to move on even more players, with Joe Gomez only seeing a move to AC Milan ruled out on deadline day.

Andy Robertson, too, was heavily linked with Atletico Madrid. Ibrahima Konate then had Real Madrid looking at him - that one is still very much alive with his contract expiring at the end of the season.

But perhaps the most interesting case is Federico Chiesa.

Federico Chiesa and Napoli

No one thought Chiesa would still be at Liverpool after the transfer window. He barely featured across last season, playing just 131 Premier League minutes.

And yet, he remains at Anfield. He's taken on an incredible challenge, deciding to reject a plethora of offers abroad in order to remain with Liverpool.

That's now been fully confirmed by someone close to Chiesa's agency. The Italian is represented by Fali Ramadani, who owns Lian Sports, and he personally talked with Napoli about his player.

Ciro Caruso, head of scouting for Lian Sports, has talked to Radio Marte’s Forza Napoli Sempre about his knowledge of the talks.

“Chiesa, Liverpool’s attacking winger, managed by Ramadani’s Lian, has been the subject of negotiations with Napoli," he said, per CalcioNapoli24.

"Chiesa has been on Napoli’s radar, but Ramadani himself addressed the matter with Napoli, and I don’t know why the deal wasn’t closed.”

Exactly why that deal collapsed, then, is unclear. As is Chiesa's future, in fact.

The forward has featured more regularly this season and already has half the league appearances he managed across the entirety of 2024/25. But he's also been left out of the UEFA Champions League squad - a sign that Arne Slot isn't entirely convinced.

The next few months are key, then. We'll see exactly how ingrained Chiesa can be with the Liverpool squad ahead of the winter transfer window. If his football isn't regular, then his agency can prepare for more talks.
