It looks like Liverpool are going to undertake a midfield rebuild over the course of the summer transfer window.

Arne Slot has been reliant on the same cast of characters in his midfield lineup for the last couple of seasons.

But the Premier League title-winning head coach is now getting diminishing returns from some of them including Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch.

Factor in a complicated contract scenario for Curtis Jones - and long-term doubts about Wataru Endo - and you can see why sporting director Richard Hughes is considering new signings.

And right now there is one name that Liverpool cannot afford to miss.

Madrid would sell Camavinga for £43m

Eduardo Camavinga, 23, looks set to be made available by Real Madrid this summer having lost his status as a guaranteed starter at the Bernabeu.

Renowned transfer journalist Matteo Moretto has now spoken out about links between the France international and Premier League clubs.

Incredibly Madrid are willing to let Camavinga go for only €50m (£43m) - a bargain that Richard Hughes needs to exploit.

Given his abilities as a No6, a progressive passer and emergency left-back it’s an opportunity to add three world-class options to the squad for a fraction of Camavinga’s true worth.

"He's not untouchable; there are already Premier League clubs interested in him. For now, Real Madrid hasn't set a price, but it's clear they don't want to go below 50 million," Moretto said on Despierta San Francisco per Marca.

Eduardo Camavinga: Situation summary

Eduardo Camavinga’s Real Madrid future is entering a delicate phase despite his long-term deal and status as a proven winner in Madrid’s midfield.

Camavinga signed an improved contract to 2029, with reports of a huge release clause, which underlines how highly the club still value him and protects his price in any negotiations.

However, injuries over the last 18 months have stalled his momentum and contributed to reduced starts, with this season seeing more rotation and fewer guaranteed minutes than anticipated for a player of his pedigree.

Real Madrid are now prepared to listen to offers in excess of around €50m this summer, a stance that reflects both financial pragmatism and the depth they have accumulated in midfield.

The emergence of Thiago Pitarch, permanently promoted to the first team and trusted in high‑leverage games, has sharpened competition for central roles and offered the coaching staff a fresh, tactically intelligent option from La Fábrica.

While Camavinga is not agitating for an exit, a lack of consistent first‑team football between now and June, combined with Madrid’s openness to significant bids, leaves the door ajar to a summer departure if a top European club promises him a central role.

Mac Allister out, Camavinga in?

Camavinga could offer an alternative to Ryan Gravenberch in the No6 role which would in turn allow the Dutchman to move forward into a more attacking position.

It would of course leave the future of Alexis Mac Allister in doubt with the Argentine World Cup winner no longer at his brilliant best.

A move in the opposite direction may make sense but Liverpool will value him a lot higher than the £43m wanted by Real for Camavinga.
