Liverpool in talks to FINALLY seal striker transfer

Liverpool hope to finally seal a deal for a striker this week. They're in talks and an offer is on the way.

Liverpool are working hard to seal even more deals before the transfer window ends at the start of next month. They've been about as busy as it gets up to now.

The Reds have signed Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong for their first-team squad. Armin Pecsi and Freddie Woodman have arrived as goalkeeping options, too.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has left, as have Jarell Quansah, Caoimhin Kelleher and Luis Diaz. Tyler Morton is expected to leave shortly, too.

And then there are the possible sales. Harvey Elliott's future isn't clear, while the Reds currently have three left-backs - Kostas Tsimikas will surely move on.

Ibrahima Konate could be off, too. His contract only has one year to run, after all.

And then there's Darwin Nunez.

DaveOCKop claims AC Milan will make an offer for Nunez this week. Now, that could apparently be a loan with an obligation to buy and Liverpool's €70m asking price is certainly beyond them this summer.

They're in talks with the Reds over a move and will try to get something done this week. Their hand is quite forced as Al-Hilal lurk in the background hoping to sign the Uruguayan.

Anfield Watch understands that Milan do like Nunez - but just can't match the kind of money Liverpool would want and that Al-Hilal are willing to put up.

We exclusively broke the news back in January that the Saudi side were keen on signing Nunez. That one didn't go through solely because Liverpool didn't wish to sell mid-season.

They very much remain interested and while Milan are involved, it's difficult to see them ending up with the striker. Liverpool, though, need something to happen as Nunez is not in their plans for next season.

Perhaps this offer forces a move somewhere, Milan or not.
