INSANE transfer chain ends with Alexander Isak joining Liverpool

An absolutely ridiculous transfer chain should end with Alexander Isak joining Liverpool. Watch this space.

Liverpool want to sign Alexander Isak. The player, too, wants to head to Anfield but Newcastle United are really hoping to win this transfer battle.

They don't want to lose their star player, even if the Reds are willing to put up a record-breaking amount of money. Isak is essentially irreplaceable and no amount of money will improve on him.

But when a player pushes like this, it's incredibly difficult to hold onto him. Especially when he's threatening to never play for the team again.

Newcastle will feel all the pressure imaginable to sell - though, there's one reason a deal simply can't go through yet. While the Magpies won't replace Isak with a player of similar quality, they still need a striker.

Callum Wilson also left Newcastle this summer, after all, leaving them particularly short. But perhaps that will soon change.

Alexander Isak at the end of the chain

Ben Jacobs reports that Bournemouth are now closing in on a deal for Amine Adli from Bayer Leverkusen. So what does that have to do with Isak and Liverpool?

Well, if that goes through, Brentford can sign the Cherries’ Dango Outtara. Again, that doesn’t appear to have too much to do with Liverpool but that one would allow for Yoane Wissa to sign for Newcastle.

With that, the Magpies would have a striker to actually play for them. Losing Isak is suddenly a lot more palatable - potentially enough for a deal to actually go through.

There’s little chance that Wissa is the ultimate replacement for Isak and we imagine they want another striker on top of that transfer. They’ve certainly been linked with a few.

But Wissa’s arrival would make life infinitely more comfortable for them and leave them a whole lot less reliant on Isak. Enough so that it might mean the Swede can join Liverpool ASAP.

Watch this space, then. There's a ridiculous number of moving parts here but once they click together, the Reds might finally get their dream transfer.

Yep it’s plausible now. Having Wissa in allows the sale, but we won’t accept a lower fee because of the behaviour and Liverpool unsettling him, Get a decent fee in then chuck a large chunk of it at Aghehowa. Although preferably yesterday has shown PSG their shortcomings and they bid for Isak instead.
