Liverpool have ideal Mo Salah replacement waiting in January for just €20m

Despite spending over £650 million in the last three windows, there is a glaring hole in Liverpool's squad.

Several high-profile additions have been sanctioned at Anfield, but no replacement for Mohamed Salah came through the door this summer.

Federico Chiesa is yet to feature this campaign due to injury, and the Reds are left with no natural option on the right-hand side of their attack.

Bradley Barcola, Rio Ngumoha and Victor Munoz have filled in so far, but an additional right-sided forward would be a huge boost in the winter window.

Luckily for Liverpool a former target could be available.

Liverpool need to look at Johan Bakayoko

Johan Bakayoko is a name that the Anfield faithful will be familiar with, the Belgian forward was almost continually linked with a Merseyside move for a number of years before he made the jump from PSV to RB Leipzig in 2025.

The 23-year-old has failed to impress since his move to Germany however, and now he could once again be on the market in January.

After starting well in Leipzig, Bakayoko fell out of favour and picked up a muscle injury that saw him feature minimally from Christmas onwards last season.

He only managing 892 minutes in all competitions last campaign, and the Belgian has once again failed to nail down a starting place this season.

Although his returns have basically flatlined since he left the Netherlands, it is important to note that the winger managed 43 goals and assists in his last two seasons with PSV.

The left-footed right-winger could be the perfect addition to Iraola's squad, and he would prove a cost-effective option too, with teams being quoted just €20 million (~£17m) in the summer.

At such a low fee, Bakayoko is worth the small risk and could add some much-needed depth to the right-hand side of Iraola's attack.
