However, the Englishman has decided to take his kids elsewhere, with North London's Arsenal taking his fancy, which could suggest one of two things.

Firstly, the relationship with the Reds might be pretty non-existent now, given he spent seven years at Manchester City, so his time on Merseyside somewhat pales into insignificance.

But secondly, his loan spell from Chelsea to Arsenal has seemingly made a big impression on him, despite the move failing to work out for either party in footballing terms.

Put simply, however, the academy at Arsenal is what has taken his attention from his most recent endeavour. It was announced yesterday that his nine-year-old son Thiago will be joining the program.

In a purely logical sense, it makes a lot of sense as to why Sterling has chosen a London club given his current living situation and his Liverpool days are likely to just be a memory of the past now.

But the Reds have lost what could have been an enticing project.

Nonetheless, despite Sterling only spending a short period of his career with the Reds, he will always be a former player and Liverpool fans will fondly remember his professional debut.
